Documents that need to be submitted to Oxford Brookes University

It is really important for the students/mentees to be aware of the OBU requirements related to the documents that need to be submitted to OBU. Following are the files that are included in the RAP:

• Research Report – A word document containing the major part of the research findings and an overall analysis evaluation that is of no more than 7, 500 words.
• Skills and Learning Statement (SLS) – Also a word document in which the students are required to answer the four questions given by an OBU. The questions require a student/mentee to show self-reflection and the overall learning outcome through carrying out RAP and while taking mentoring sessions.
• PowerPoint Presentation – Students/Mentees are required to deliver a 15-minute presentation to the mentor, normally in the third meeting. It is a PowerPoint presentation which suffices the requirement of the Communication Skills part of the RAP.
• Spread Sheet (Excel doc.) – RAP requires the student/mentee to show some IT skills while carrying out the RAP. It can be done by computing accounting ratios and performance indicators and providing a graphical representation using the Spread Sheet (Excel file). You have to include the Spread Sheet file as an appendix while submitting on the OBU submission portal.
• List of References – You have to submit a list of references in alphabetical order. These are sources of information which you have used in your Research Report in order to carry out your analysis and evaluation in respect to the topic and the company you have chosen for your RAP.
• Financial Statements or Financial figures – Part of the Financial Statements or the financial figures need to be submitted as a PDF file (if necessary).
• List of Abbreviations – Students/Mentees might submit a separate Word document as an appendix, other than the Spread Sheet, of all the abbreviations that have been used in the Research Report and SLS. It is not a mandatory document.
• Re-Submission Statement – Students/Mentees who are submitting their project a second or third time need to submit a re-submission statement in order to mention the reasons for the failure for the first or the second time and how you have addressed the shortcomings of the RAP.

Note: All the documents you want to upload and submit on the OBU submission portal should be less than 10 MB. The SLS file should be less than 250KB.

To conclude, students are required to submit the following files to OBU:

• Your overall analysis and evaluation and the research findings of your project as a Word document. Your ACCA registration number and the word count limit must be on the front cover of the file
• SLS as a Word document
• PowerPoint Presentation which should consist of the slides ranging from 10-20
• A Spread Sheet file must be submitted as an Excel file (xls or xlsx) in the Spread Sheet section of the portal
• Financial Statements need to be submitted as a PDF file. Only part of the financial statements used for the analysis needs to be submitted

Students who are using MacBook needs to use Firefox and not Safari browser to submit their work on the OBU portal.
